LIFE

                                       IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LESSONS

             STUDIOUS &
FOCUSED... ... BUT I LOVE A GOOD DISTRACTION

There’s nothing more fun than FAMILY. My happiest distraction is my family. Mine includes my
exposing yourself to an unseen partner (marriage hasn’t been a top priority for me but he is) and my 1
audience, right? Oh well, here fur kids (all rescues).
             goes:
COMEDY. Did I mention comedy? Some of my favorites are Firesign
I tend to be focused and Theater, Monty Python, MST3K. Bill Hicks (blue), Robin Williams, 2
Jonathan Winters, Neil Brennan and Jerrod Carmichael.
             studious. I believe we’re all
             here to learn lessons. Because
these lessons can be tough and TRAVEL. I’ll travel anywhere but I have a preference for places with
I can get too focused at times, trees, water and shade. Can you tell you I was born and raised in the 3
suburban morass of the perpetually-preheated oven called LA?
I use my love of comedy to help
me lighten up. I think good
comedians do the work of the LEARNING. Hi, I’m Laurie and I’m a learner. Seriously, this is an
addiction for me. If it isn’t college courses toward another degree,
angels - no hyperbole intended. then I’m taking one-off classes about something I find fascinating. 4
             I also decompress with time
spent in nature -- especially the
mountains. WRITING. It’s hard for a constant reader to name a favorite author 5
but - for fiction - right off the top of my head, I love Charles Dickens
                                              and Douglas Adams.
More? Okay. A few of my
             preferred distraction are listed
I was hooked. I’m missing Garrison Keillor on NPR now but, even 6
to the right. And, if you’re OLD-TIME & NARRATIVE RADIO. I found old-time radio while on a
long-drive with my dad and then found more stuff on the Internet.
looking for more than the Cliff
Notes version of me, head cooler? New artists are bringing back the radio narrative.
over to my blog which I call,
             “Further Communications from
             an Introvert.”
